Victoria Barr grew up on the small island of Cozumel, Mexico and migrated with her family to the United States (Dallas, Texas) at the age of thirteen. Becoming an attorney was always her dream, however, with her limited language skills, her dream seemed nearly impossible. Her native language was Spanish, which meant she had to work five times as hard as her peers in school just to keep up. Eventually she was able to not only keep up academically, but surpass her peers.

As an immigrant who has struggled to get to where she is, she values the hard-working immigrants in this country and is excited that she is finally in a place where she can give them the legal help they need to be safe and not have to spend more restless nights wondering if ICE will come knocking on their door.

Victoria Barr is the people, and today she fights for the rights of the people with the hope of giving them the opportunity to reach their “American Dream.”
