Roland was born in Bloomington, Indiana. While growing up, Roland lived in Boston, Tokyo, London, and then eventually Provo, Utah. After graduating high school, Roland attended Brigham Young University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies. Roland then attended the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University where he graduated magna cum laude and was one of the top 20 students in his graduating class.

While in law school, Roland was a lead editor on the BYU Law Review, won the school’s negotiation competition, and had the highest scoring briefs in his legal writing class and in his advanced appellate brief writing class. Roland also spent two years as a legal writing teaching assistant and even created a 150-page legal writing manual that was used by first-year writing classes at BYU law school. Roland’s comment, Behind the Curtain of Tort Reform, which discusses the myths and misconceptions associated with tort reform, was published in the BYU Law Review while Roland attended law school.

Roland also had the privilege of working in many areas of the law while he was a law student. He interned with the Southern District of Texas for the Honorable Lee H. Rosenthal, worked for the Criminal Appeals Division of the Utah Attorney General, and worked as a summer associate at some of the largest and most respected law firms in Houston.

Roland began working with Arnold & Itkin as a law clerk in 2015 and continued his work with Arnold & Itkin as an attorney after being admitted to the Texas bar in November 2016. In 2017, he was admitted to the Louisiana bar and in 2019, he was admitted to the California bar.

He is proud to help people with a wide variety of cases involving catastrophic personal injuries. He also assists clients facing residential and commercial insurance claims, such as people throughout Coastal Texas who are recovering from the catastrophic damage caused by Hurricane Harvey.

When Roland isn’t working, he is spending time with his wife Chandra and their three children, Kade, Chloe, and Wesley.
