Preserving family legacy has always been important to Richard. Like many first-generation children, his parents immigrated to this country seeking to build a foundation for future generations. His parents’ journey taught Richard the value of passing a legacy onto loved ones.
As an estate planning and tax attorney who has advocated for clients in front of the IRS, state tax authorities and local courts, Richard recognizes the need for awareness of these murky areas of the law. He takes pride in simplifying opaque tax and probate codes to arm his clients with the ability to preserve their hard-earned wealth and legacy for their loved ones.
Estate planning requires discussion of life’s most complex and sensitive details. Richard has a unique blend of experience that allows him to understand the intricacy of probate and tax laws as they relate to protecting and preserving your assets. In addition to his experience as an associate attorney at a preeminent trusts & estates law firm, Richard’s credentials include an advanced degree in taxation law and prior training in tax compliance and consulting for leading global firms PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young, LLP.
He is a graduate of Santa Clara University School of Law, where he was awarded the CALI Excellence Award for Achievement in the study of Law & Social Justice. He obtained an LL.M in Taxation Law with a Certificate in Estate Planning from Golden Gate University, where he was a Merit Scholar. Richard also served on the board of the Bay Area Young Tax Lawyers Association and is a member of both the Trusts & Estates and Tax Sections of the American Bar Association (ABA) and California State Bar.
