Flint Attorney Frank J. Manley has handled over 30,000 criminal defense cases in his more than 30 years of practice in the Flint area, with charges ranging from traffic cases to homicides, and everything in between.
And after three decades of arguably being the best defense attorney in Flint and Genesee County, Frank Manley can also boast of being among the best criminal defense attorneys in the entire state of Michigan.
A graduate of Flint Northern High School, he has earned his reputation as a zealous defender of clients because of his intimidating, never-back-down approach to law, huge heart and his ability to communicate with all types of people.
Frank Manley grew up in a family of educators, but knew at a young age that he wanted to be an attorney. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Aquinas College, graduating with honors in 1978 with majors in history and political science.
Going on to pursue his Juris Doctor degree at Cooley Law School in Lansing, Manley served as a clerk in the Circuit Court of Genesee County to the Honorable Thomas C. Yeotis, before obtaining his law degree in 1982. He has been in private practice ever since, first with his brother as founding member of the well-known Manley & Manley Firm, and now on his own.
Manley is a member of many organizations, including the Michigan State Bar, Genesee County Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, Michigan Trial Lawyers Associations and The National Trial Lawyers Association, just to name a few.
For nearly two decades, Manley has been conferred a Preeminent AV Rating by Martindale Hubbell, the highest possible rating for both legal ability and ethical standards.
Manley has been named a Super Lawyer year after year. In 2015, he was named among the Nation’s Top 1 Percent by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel, as well as one of the 10 Best Law Firms in Michigan by the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys. Additionally, he is among the Top 10 Criminal Defense Lawyers in Michigan, the Top 100 OWI Attorneys in the State of Michigan, and among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers Association.
“I’ve always tried to be that law firm or the defender that protects the accused from the great power of the state when they have no resources to fight back,” Manley said.
