Efrem D. Sewell founded The Sewell Law Firm on the principle that injured people and their families should have access to the same quality legal representation as large insurance companies. Mr. Sewell has handled numerous cases to favorable resolution or verdict. He has dedicated his entire professional career to serving injured people and their families.
For over 28 years, Mr. Sewell has handled thousands of cases from the preparation stages to negotiations and settlements throughout the Greater Houston area and surrounding counties. His experience includes Auto Accidents, 18-Wheeler Truck Accidents, Wrongful Deaths, Dog & Animal Bites, Slip and Falls, as well as many other types of personal injury cases.
Education & Professional Memberships
Mr. Sewell prepared for his career by earning a Juris Doctor in 1990 from Texas Southern University. While in law school, he worked as an editor on the Thurgood Marshall Law Review and won the American Jurisprudence Award, which is conferred for excellence in criminal law studies. He also belongs to several professional associations, including the State Bar of Texas, American Institute of Trial Lawyers, the National Trial Lawyers Top 100, the Lawyers of Distinction, and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
Outside the Courtroom
When on break from his legal practice, Mr. Sewell enjoys spending time with his family and coaching his sons in a variety of youth sports. He is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, freshwater fishing, and golfing with his friends. He also enjoys following a variety of professional and college sports. He is a big fan of the NFL and attends many Houston Texans games.
Mr. Sewell is very active in many other civic and charitable organizations. Two of his biggest civic commitments are The Keenan’s Kids Foundation , which is a non-profit organization that works to improve the daily lives and the future of children. Through clothing drives, feeding the homeless, children’s events and fundraisers like the Murphy House Project and Stars of the South, KKF strives to meet the needs of our community’s children and promote their well-being. The other is contributing and participating in alumni affairs and activities at Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas.
