Alyssa D. Smith is an associate attorney with Pucci | Pirtle, LLC. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November 2018 and focuses her practice on family law including the areas of divorce and parental responsibilities (formerly known as custody) litigation.
A Woodstock, Illinois native, Ms. Smith attended the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities where she graduated in three years. She joined Pucci | Pirtle, LLC as a paralegal in July 2014 and continued to work for the firm while she attended University of Missouri School of Law in Columbia, Missouri where she earned her Juris Doctor in May 2018.
While in law school, Ms. Smith worked in the law library, honing her legal research skills. In the summer of 2016 and spring of 2017, she interned with Prairie State Legal Services in McHenry County and the Family Violence Clinic at Missouri School of Law, gaining firsthand experience working with clients on a variety of family law and domestic violence matters from both. Ms. Smith also volunteered at the Missouri Capital reviewing clemency petitions for the governor.
Ms. Smith was a member of the Missouri Law Review as an Associate Member and then as an Associate Editor. Throughout law school, Ms. Smith dedicated her focus to the areas of family law and alternative dispute resolution.
Ms. Smith uses compassion while working with clients to help them navigate through the divorce process and child related issues, understanding that each case is unique. She continues to advocate for her clients and work with them to obtain a solution to the various obstacles they face while being mindful of their specific goals and values.
