Meet Your New York City Immigration Lawyer

Bronx immigration attorney Belinda Arevalo is a skilled advocate who is dedicated to helping her clients. Born of first-generation immigrant parents from El Salvador, she truly appreciate the complex struggles faced by immigrant families.

Like countless others, her parents journeyed to the United States in pursuit of the American Dream. Her father was 23 years old when he left El Salvador, hopeful that the opportunities available in the United States would help raise his family out of poverty.

Belinda earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Binghamtom University in New York, majoring in psychology and minoring in Spanish and international studies. During this time, she served as a Diversity Fellows Facilitator, and studied abroad in Madrid and Paris. After graduating, she went on to study abroad in Rome with St. John’s University School of Law. Shortly after, she pursued her Juris Doctor at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

During law school, she became the recipient of the Palm Beach County Bar Association Minority Scholarship. In addition to making it onto the Dean’s List in winter 2009 and 2011, she accrued over 400 hours of pro-bono work.

Having earned her law degree, Belinda went on to fill several positions. She served at the Public Defender’s Office in Miami as an Intern, and went on to work as a Law Clerk at the Legal Offices of Izquierdo & Marin, where she did extensive research and aided with appeals. From there, she moved on to work as a bilingual immigration attorney at Zwaik, Gilbert and Associates in Hampton Bays, New York.
